El sexo en las máquinas is an ensemble of four robots performing erotic-sexual gestures (masturbation, masochism and unclear coitus) continuosly, creating an endless mechanical orgy. It was my first large installation and the beginning of researching the relationship between humans and their technological environment, based on the simple premise of constructing machines that mimic human behaviour, and confronting the audience with their mechanical counterpart in situations never suspected to be occupied by machines.
This installation was constructed with wood 7 centuries old which came from falling buildings in ths Sevillian neighbourhood of La Alameda.
